Pamplemousses

Pamplemousses is located in the north west of Mauritius and is one of the most densely populated parts of the island. The name of the district comes from the grapefruit like trees the Dutch introduced to the island.

The islands botanical gardens, which are 300 years old, are located here. If you are in the mood for a peaceful and tranquil stroll then this 37-hectare garden is a good option.
